It has been a very eventful bank holiday weekend for us, with the surprise arrival of baby Max, 4 weeks early.
My contractions started on Friday evening, and after a quick stop off at my mums to drop the kids off for a late night sleepover, we made our way to hospital. After some monitoring, I was taken to theatre and baby Max arrived on Saturday 4th May at 1.19am. He weighed in at 6lbs 8ozs – a good weight for 36 weeks, but because he was making some grunting noises when breathing he was admitted to the special care unit and put on a Cpap machine to help his lungs.
After 24 hours on Cpap, he was breathing well enough to come off, and he joined me on the postnatal ward. After one more night, he was able to have the drip removed from his arm, and we were given the all clear to make our way home.
Gemma and Jacob are very excited to have a new baby brother, and we are all over the moon with him, he is just so scrumptious 🙂
There will be regular updates on baby Max and our family as the weeks go by, but for now it is feeding time again, so I shall leave you with my beautiful boy!
